Clay Aiken - On My Way Here

On May 6, 2008 Clay Aiken released his third full length CD, On My Way Here (OMWH). Unlike A Thousand Different Ways (ATDW - released September 19, 2006), OMWH is a compilation original music.

I love ATDW. I love Clay's vocal nuances, how he caresses the notes - it's just beautiful. My favorite song on ATDW was the iTunes bonus song - Lover All Alone (Lyrics by Clay Aiken/Music by David Foster and Emanuel Kiriakou) and I'm thrilled that this song also made it to OMWH too (people need to hear this song, like lots)

Now on to OMWH - what an amazing CD. Each song was hand picked and chronicles lessons learned as we wade our way through our 20s (I, for one, enjoyed my 30s much more than my 20s - ya hear that Clay?). One of my FAVORITE songs on OMWH is, yet again, the bonus song on the WalMart version - Forget I Ever Knew You (tomorrow's blog will be all about my OMWH dilemma).

Forget I Ever Knew You was written by Greg Critchley and is absolutely amazing. For your listening (and hopefully viewing) pleasure - Forget I Ever Knew You:

If you do not have this CD, get ye to WalMart and pick one up. Or, better yet, how about ordering online? Save a little gas (GO GREEN!!!)

I love "Forget I Ever Knew You." There are no Walmarts close to where I live, so I ordered several of my gift Clay Aiken CD's online just to get the bonus track.

This Clay Aiken song, Everything I Don't Need, sounds like a great fit for radio. Too bad radio has blackballed him.

SueRue,

I can listen to Clay Aiken's On My Way Here non-stop, and I agree that the bonus tracks are just as fine as the main 12.

Clay has a magnificent voice, and his awesome new CD needs to be heard.

Excellent blog!

I love the whole CD because it is not boring. Every song has it's own feel. I love the voice and the work that was done on this CD. Forget I ever knew you as a bonus track is great, one of my favorites. I really get caught up in these songs while listening. The Real Me is one that I listen to over and over as is Lover All Alone. Such emotion. There are so many fun songs on the album too. Great job Clay!

I love Everything I Don't Need. This Clay Aiken song is just another example of his versatility as a singer. He can sing a wide range of music genre's although I hope he never raps!

On My Way Here is the best work that Clay Aiken has ever done. I like "Forget I Ever Knew You," and I love "Lover All Alone." I totally agree that this song needs to be heard by a lot more people; I'd love to hear this song in a movie! "Something About Us" and "Sacrificial Love" also would work well in a movie. "Falling" is my favorite song on the CD; Clay rocks!

My favorite song changes from day to day on this cd. I also love the bonus cut, Forget I Ever Knew You, on Walmart's version of the cd. Clay Aiken, Jaymes Foster and Kipper did a great job on this cd.

I can't wait until Clay Aiken tours. Nothing compares to seeing the man live.

There is something about Clay Aiken's voice when he sings THE REAL ME. Somehow, he colors the tone and almost whispers some of the words. It is beautiful.

Oh yes. The way Clay sings the beginning of "The Real Me" is absolutely heartbreaking.

I think you really hear "Love" in Clay's voice when he sings SOMETHING ABOUT US also. Clay Aiken really knows how to bring the best shading of his voice in every song.
